Practical Information for Your Visit

The Majdanek grounds are expansive, so we recommend bringing a drink for the tour. When visiting the State Museum at Majdanek, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Dress Respectfully: Ensure your clothing is suitable for a memorial site.
  • Follow Visitor Rules: Smoking, open fires, eating, loud behaviour, phone use inside historic buildings, or intoxication are prohibited.
  • Minimum Age: Visitors must be at least 14 years old due to the sensitive nature of the site.
  • Pets: Animals are not allowed, except for guide dogs.
  • Obey Museum Officials: Please follow the instructions of guides, exhibition keepers, and museum guards at all times.

Majdanek Guided Tours are conducted by Certified Majdanek Guides. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to secure your Private Majdanek Tour Guide.

Please note, the museum will be completely closed to the public on all Mondays and the following special holidays:

  • New Year's Day - 1st of January 2025
  • Epiphany - 6th of January 2025
  • Easter - 20th & 21st of April 2025
  • Corpus Christi - 19th of June 2025
  • All Saints' Day - 1st of November 2025
  • National Independence Day - 11th of November 2025
  • Christmas Period - 24th until 31st of December 2025
